An Elephant Never Forgets

When I was at the Hollywood & Highland mall and saw the elephants, I just thought they were weird. Why giant pillars with elephants? I mean, these things were huge! When trying to find out what they were called, I learned they were specifically built as an homage to D.W. Griffith's 1916 film "Intolerance", at full scale, and were removed in 2021 as a rejection of his racist legacy.

After learning that, I considered removing this image from the album. Ultimately, though, I decided to keep it as a reminder of America's racist past and our willingness to normalize and overlook it (Hollywood & Highland was opened in November of 2001).
