About Snugug Photography

Hey all! I’m Sam! Thanks for visiting! I’ve been doing photography for over 20 years, since taking my first film photography class in high school with my Minolta X-700. I’m currently working on getting my whole backlog of pictures up, but I’ve started with my first album with a digital camera and my two latest albums.

My first digital camera was a Sony DSC-T33, a tiny point and shoot with an internal optical zoom and I absolutely loved it. My first two DSLRs were a Canon 7D and 6D. I’ve since moved onto Fujifilm cameras, and just upgraded from the X-T1 with a pancake lens to an X-T5 with the 16-55.

Most of my photography is some combination of landscape and architecture. I do a lot of merged high dynamic range images, even going back to my T33 days. I also shoot a lot of panorams, and have recently been experimenting with timelapse videos.

While putting together this site, I started playing with high dynamic range image formats, expanding the number of colors available to my photographs. While these won’t work for print, they make for even more amazing images on monitors and browsers that support them. For the best experience (at least for the time being), I’d recommend trying to view this site through Chrome on a device with a high dynamic range monitor (like a Macbook). On other browsers, you’ll get the standard dynamic range version of my images, the kinds that’d be used to send for printing.
