From the shrine at the bottom of the mountain there's a forest path that leads up first to a torii gate that perfectly frames Mt. Fuji, then further up to a waterfall with more Shinto shrines. We had hoped to catch a glimpse of Fuji at the mid-way torii gate, but it was both covered by clouds, and the actual spot looked less like a holy site and more like a tourist trap. On the walk up, though, off the road that takes you to the top, was this abandoned VW bus.
